Activities for spring and autumn

Please notice that some of our activities can only be organised at spesific locations, for example rock-climbing and frisbeegolf in Järvisydän as well as wilderness meals cooking course and Oskar and Tilda's forest adventure in Linnansaari. This is why we suggest spending a whole day in Linnansaari and/or Järvisydän in Rantasalmi, we will also dine at that destination. Have a look at the transportation by safariboats or ship for the day excursion as well.

The trip to Reindeer Village Porokylä can also be arranged on the first or last day of the camp.

Accessibility: most of our excursions in Oravi and Linnansaari are accessible for people with moving disabilities, we have even organised a canoeing excursion to people in wheelchairs. We travel with larger catamaran boat with bow visor. When we opent the visor it is easy to enter the boat also with wheelchair. On the main camping ground of Linnansaari it is easy to move around also in a wheelchair and the path leading to the Linnansaari croft is flat. Ask for more information about activities suitable for your school class!

You will get to know the basic technics of canoeing and survival in the water if the canoe flips around. You will also practise canoeing by playing on calm waters. Duration 2 hours. Groups with over 20 persons will be divided into two groups (duration 2x2h). For safety reasons the activity is implemented only when the lake water is still warm (August-September).

Canoeing excursion with giant canoes to the world of Saimaa ringed seal and osprey, in Linnansaari National Park. The excursion will be implemented with stable and fast giant canoes, 6-12 persons/canoe. Duration circa 2 hours. The price includes guidance and life jackets. All participants must have clothing suitable for the weather. Max. participants 35 persons.

Max. participants 30 persons. All participants must have clothing suitable for the weather.

Will you catch a perch or pike? A playful angling competition by the Oravi canal. The guide will teach the secrets of agling before the competition starts. Duration: circa 1,5 hours.

During the wilderness themed team building competition you will get to laugh and have a very good time! You will forget the passage of time performing the tasks that require fun and wit and a little bit of desire for winning. Tasks include for example puzzle games and other problem solving skills as well as tasks testing wilderness skills. Duration circa 2 hours.

The competitions will be held in Oravi or Reindeer Village Porokylä (in Rantasalmi)

Crossnature is a training form that combines different sports from strenght training to pulse-boosting tempo sports. The exercises are always done outside - in every weather, all year around! You can get energy of the fresh air and overall strong body.

Crossnature is suitable for everyone - we are not competing with each other, everyone focuses on their own performance. The Crossnature excercises are performed individually, in pairs and in groups.

All participants must have clothing suitable for the weather and good oudoor shoes.

The guide will lead you through the woods to a campfire place to fry sausages. At dusk you will also hear exiting campfire stories.

The popular frisbeegolf now for school camp groups in landscape of Hotel & Spa resort Järvisydän!
The principle of frisbeegolf is the same as in ”ballgolf”. You would have to get the frisbee to the goalbasket with as few throws as possible.

Above all frisbeegolf is a Spirit - sport, a sport designed to have fun!
It is good to have clothing suitable for the weather and good outdoor shoes. The fairways are located in varying terrain. Groupsize max. 36 persons. Duration: 2h.

During the activity the group becomes familiar with the following wilderness skills: using a map and compass, determinating air directions in nature, choosing a suitable place for camping, setting up a tent, using camping cookers and making a fire. In addition the group gets to know everyman's right. The content of the activity may vary a little according to group's wishes, season, weather and the location where the activity is organised. Duration 3 hours.

During the activity the group learns the right use of climbing equipment and the basic knots of climbing. The guide will also tell about safety instructions and the group practices descenting. Climbing is ensured by a safety rope coming from above, so there is no risk of falling. The activity includes a quick climbing course, guidance and the climbing equipment. Duration 2-4 h. All of the building material used at Lake Spa are natural: water from Lake Saimaa, natural stone and sunken logs that date back over 5 centuries. The spa is heated ecologically using geothermal and solar energy.

During the forest walk we will get to know the nature trails in Linnansaari and the Linnansaari croft with the guide. We will also explore the different biological species and get to know croftlife and grupping which maintains the traditional landscape. Walking circa 3km. Duration 3 h.
